Two new staff joined Nascentia Health’s Syracuse team—Sue Spina is a licensed clinical social worker working and Whittney Reed is a retention and recruitment specialist.

Sue Spina joins Nascentia’s team as a licensed clinical social worker consultant in our home health care practice. She has more than 25 years of experience in social work and previously worked as the program director for the Mohawk Valley Health System’s adult day health care and as a social work consultant for several providers in Oneida County. She continues to also operate a clinical mental health private practice in Whitesboro. At Nascentia, she is responsible for expanding upon and developing clinical social work programs that contribute to enhanced patient care across the organizational service line and insurance programs. Sue received a master’s in social work from Syracuse University. She is a resident of New York Mills.

Whittney Reed, a retention and recruitment specialist in our human resources department, has a background in hiring/onboarding, training and development, HRIS data maintenance, and employee engagement for several companies. She most recently worked in project management for the Redhouse Arts Center. Whittney is the former vice president of the United Way Corporate Volunteer Council and she also provided virtual learning support for young students from her home this past year throughout the pandemic. At Nascentia, she supports full life-cycle recruiting, screening, placement, and retention of quality staff to support the vision and goals of the organization. She holds a bachelor’s in communication from University at Buffalo, and a master’s in human resources management. She is a resident of Syracuse.
