Nascentia Health is proud to announce the recipients of our spring 2021 President’s Award and Heart of Home Care Awards. These awards are given to employees who go above and beyond in their dedication to Nascentia’s foundational pillars and the Be Nascentia values.
Andrea Lazarek-LaQuay, Nascentia’s chief clinical officer, received the President’s Award. Andrea leads Nascentia’s clinical team of nurses and other practitioners and truly stepped up to lead the firm’s response to the COVID pandemic over the past year. She managed the firm’s partnership with Onondaga County to staff COVID testing centers for over a year, and also spearheaded the county’s first at-home vaccination program. As a registered nurse, she even stepped onto the front lines with her team to deliver critical COVID-related services to Central New York. Her leadership and dedication have made the difference in the lives of so many throughout our community.
The following employees were honored with Heart of Home Care Awards.
- Gayle Sojda, a home health aide, has been with Nascentia for 3 years. She is known for her excellent work with dementia patients, and is a 24-hour aide for an individual who needs significant care.
- Ellie Greenfield, a registered nurse, has spent the last year balancing her duties as an in-home skilled nurse with staffing the count COVID testing clinics and, more recently, giving vaccines to Nascentia’s homebound clients. She has been with the company for nearly 4 years.
- Maria Herold, a registered nurse, has been at Nascentia for more than 3 years. She stepped up to staff the testing clinic at the F Shed at the Regional Market for much of 2020 and is now traveling to many remote areas to administer COVID vaccines. At the same time, she continues to manage her home care patients that rely on her nursing skills.
- Nicole Christmas, a registered nurse, worked for months with Nascentia’s COVID testing team and now is part of our home vaccination program. She continues to also provide critical in-home nursing care for patients.
