Nascentia Health is proud to announce its recognition as a 2025 Mohawk Valley GEAR Awards honoree.

The annual awards ceremony, hosted by the Central New York Business Journal, took place Wednesday evening at Beeches Manor in Rome, NY.

The GEAR Awards, short for “Grow, Expand, Attract, Retain,” celebrate organizations helping to reimagine, reinvigorate, and revitalize the Mohawk Valley region.

“We are honored to be recognized among this year’s GEAR Award recipients,” said Kate Rolf, President and CEO of Nascentia Health. “At Nascentia, we’re committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care directly to our communities. Being acknowledged for our role in revitalizing the Mohawk Valley is a testament to the dedication of our team and the positive impact of home-based health care in Central New York and beyond.”

Building on its 135-year legacy of delivering home-based care, Nascentia Health recently launched the public phase of its Nascentia Neighborhood Capital Campaign. The initiative seeks to address the rapidly evolving and often unmet—needs of adults aged 55 and older.

By acquiring and repurposing the historic Beeches property in Rome, a longstanding community landmark, the Nascentia Neighborhood initiative will create a 72-acre inclusive, “aging-in-place” community, allowing Central New York residents to remain active, engaged, and connected to the Mohawk Valley.

In addition to an on-site medical complex, Nascentia Neighborhood will feature a privately owned, gated residence; affordable housing for moderate-to-low-income seniors; and amenities such as a gym, sports courts, walking trails, and year-round community activities.

Berkshire Bank presented this year’s Mohawk Valley GEAR Awards. Alongside Nascentia Health, honorees included ICAN, Sovena, and Utica Coffee Roasting Co.
