What is the Caregiver Respite Program?

The Caregiver Respite Program, supported by the New York State Office for the Aging, provides temporary relief to family caregivers in Onondaga County, helping you maintain your loved one’s well-being at home.

Services Available:

  • Adult Social Day Programs – Engaging activities and socialization in a supportive environment
  • In-Home Aide Services – Assistance with daily tasks right in the home
  • Short-Term Assisted Living or Nursing Home Stays – A safe, professional setting while you take a break

Eligibility:

  • Must reside in Onondaga County Caregiver or care receiver must be 60+ years old
  • Care receiver must be non-Medicaid
  • Further assessment determines cost-share rate or ability to pay
